Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains what information Water Damage Whittier collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to https://waterdamagewhittier.com and to enquiries you send us through it.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the estimate or contact form we collect the name, phone number, email address, property address and description of the issue that you provide. We use that solely to respond to your enquiry and to schedule and carry out work you request.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page and pages viewed. This is used to keep the site running and to understand which pages are useful.
Calls. If you call the number on this site, we collect the information you give us on the call in order to dispatch a crew and provide the service.
Categories of personal information
California law asks businesses to describe what they collect using set statutory categories. This is what those categories mean in our case.
| Category | What that means here | Where it comes from | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, phone number, email address, property address, IP address | You, via the form or a call; automatically from your browser | Carrier or adjuster where you ask; coordinated trades; service providers |
| Commercial information | Services requested, estimates, scopes of work, invoices and payment records | You, and the course of doing the work | Carrier or adjuster where you ask; accounting providers |
| Internet or network activity | Pages viewed, referring page, browser and device type | Automatically, via our hosting provider's standard logs | Hosting provider only |
| Geolocation data | The property address you give us, at street level — not device tracking | You | Crews dispatched to the job; carrier where you ask |
| Audio information | The content of what you tell us on a call | You | Not disclosed except as described under sharing, above |
| Visual information | Photographs and thermal images of the affected property | Taken by our crew during the job | You; your carrier or adjuster where you ask |
We do not collect biometric information, precise device geolocation, education records, or the categories California defines as sensitive personal information — such as government identifiers, account credentials, health or genetic data, or the contents of your private messages. Because we do not collect it, the right to limit its use does not arise. Please do not send payment card numbers, bank details or government ID numbers through the website form.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for
- To dispatch crews and communicate about scheduling and job progress
- To prepare estimates, invoices and documentation for insurance claims
- To meet legal, tax and insurance record-keeping obligations
- To improve the content and usability of this website
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to do the work or where the law requires it:
- Your insurance carrier and adjuster, where you have asked us to bill a claim directly or to supply documentation
- Licensed trades we coordinate on your job — for example a plumber or roofer addressing the source of a leak
- Service providers that host this site, deliver form submissions, or provide scheduling and accounting software, under confidentiality obligations
- Legal and regulatory authorities, where we are required to do so
Cookies and analytics
This site is served as static pages and does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of its own. Pages that embed a Google Map may set cookies from that third-party service. If analytics or advertising tools are added in future, this policy will be updated to describe them before they are enabled.
Text messages and calls
If you provide your phone number and agree to be contacted, we may call or text you about your enquiry and your job. We do not send marketing texts. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further texts.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete or anonymise it. In practice that means different periods for different records:
- Enquiries that do not become jobs — kept only long enough to respond and follow up, then deleted.
- Job records, scopes, moisture logs and photographs — kept for the period required by our legal, insurance and tax obligations, because they may be needed to support your claim or to answer a question about work we carried out.
- Invoices and accounting records — kept for the period required by tax and record-keeping law.
- Web server logs — kept for the short period our hosting provider retains them for security and troubleshooting.
Your California privacy rights
California residents have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, to request deletion of that information, to request correction of inaccurate information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You also have the right to know how long we keep each category of information, which is set out under data retention above, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information — which does not arise here, because we do not collect any.
How to make a request
Call us on +1 (201) 277-9344 or write to the address below, and tell us which right you are exercising. There is no charge, and exercising a right will never affect the service you receive from us or the price you pay.
- Verification. Before we act on a request to know, delete or correct, we need to be reasonably sure it is coming from you. We will ask you to confirm details we already hold — typically the property address and the phone number used for the enquiry. We will not ask you for a government ID number, and we use anything you provide for verification only.
- Authorized agents. Someone may make a request on your behalf if they give us written permission signed by you, and we may still contact you directly to confirm it.
- Timing. We confirm receipt of a request promptly and respond within the period California law allows, which may be extended where a request is complex. If we cannot act on a request, we will tell you why.
Opt-out preference signals
Some browsers and extensions send an automated opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing for such a signal to opt you out of — but if that ever changes, this policy will be updated and those signals will be honored.
Accessibility of this notice
If you use a screen reader, keyboard navigation or magnification and have difficulty reading this policy or exercising any right described in it, call +1 (201) 277-9344 and we will provide the information in another format and take the request over the phone.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive financial information through the website form.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Use of this website is also subject to our terms of service.

This policy is provided as a general template and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by counsel before launch, and update it if analytics, advertising or call-tracking tools are added to the site. Two statements in particular should be confirmed against how the business actually operates: that personal information is not sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the retention periods described above.
