Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These terms govern your use of https://waterdamagewhittier.com, operated by Water Damage Whittier. By using this website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Use of this website
You may use this site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to interfere with its operation, to access it by automated means that place an unreasonable load on it, or to use its content in a way that infringes our rights or the rights of others.
Information is general, not advice for your property
The guides, checklists, process descriptions and cost information on this site are general in nature. Water damage is highly specific to the building, the materials involved, the source and category of water, and how long it has been present. Nothing here is a substitute for an on-site inspection by a qualified professional, and no scope or price can be relied on without one.
Where this site discusses insurance coverage, it describes common patterns in California homeowners policies. Your policy governs. We are not insurance advisers and nothing on this site is legal or insurance advice.
Cost information
Cost ranges published on this site are drawn from third-party published data and are provided for orientation only. They are not quotes, estimates or offers. Items marked as unverified have not been confirmed against current regional pricing and should not be relied on. Any actual price will be provided in a written estimate following an inspection.
Emergency situations
If you are facing an emergency involving electrical hazard, structural collapse, gas or risk to life, contact emergency services first. Do not rely on this website or on submitting a form. For urgent water damage response, call +1 (201) 277-9344.
Response times
Response time targets described on this site are goals based on normal conditions and are not guarantees. Actual arrival times vary with traffic, time of day, weather events, crew availability and distance. We will give you an honest arrival window when you call.
Service work
Any work we perform is governed by the written estimate, scope of work and contract signed for that job, not by this website. Where those documents and this site differ, those documents control.
Estimates and changes in scope
We inspect before we quote. A price given without moisture readings and thermal imaging is a guess, and we do not give one over the phone. Any figure you receive before an inspection is orientation, not an estimate.
Water damage scopes change when concealed conditions are found — a wall cavity opened during drying, insulation that turns out to be saturated, existing microbial growth behind a finish, or water that has traveled further than the initial map showed. Where that happens, the change and the reason for it are recorded in writing and the revised scope is agreed before the additional work proceeds.
Insurance claims
Where you ask us to, we can bill a carrier directly on a covered claim and supply the documentation an adjuster works from — moisture logs, thermal images, a written scope and a stated dry standard. We are not your insurer, your broker or your adjuster. Whether a loss is covered, and to what extent, is your carrier's decision under your policy. Payment responsibility between you and us is set out in the work authorization you sign, not on this website.
Access, safety and site conditions
Restoration work needs safe access to the affected areas, and drying equipment needs to run continuously, including overnight. Switching equipment off, moving it, or removing containment barriers extends the drying schedule and can affect the outcome and the claim. Where a property presents a hazard we are not equipped or licensed to address — live electricity in standing water, suspected asbestos or lead in materials due for removal, structural instability or a gas leak — we will stop and tell you what has to happen first.
Documentation and photographs
We produce photographic and instrument documentation on every job. It exists to record the loss, support your claim and verify that drying is complete, and it is shared with you and with the parties you authorize, such as your carrier or adjuster. We will not use identifiable images of your property for marketing or any other purpose without your permission.
Work by other trades
Restoration frequently runs alongside licensed trades that address the source of the water — a plumber, a roofer, an electrician. Where we help coordinate scheduling, that coordination is a convenience and does not make us responsible for another contractor's work, licensing, insurance or pricing. Any contract you enter with another trade is between you and them.
Accessibility
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation or magnification. If you encounter a barrier — content you cannot reach, a control you cannot operate, or text you cannot read — call +1 (201) 277-9344 and tell us what happened and on which page. We will fix it and, in the meantime, give you the same information over the phone.
Intellectual property
The content, design and code of this site are owned by Water Damage Whittier or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce substantial portions of it without permission.
Third-party links and embeds
This site links to and embeds third-party resources, including mapping services and external references. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Water Damage Whittier is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or from reliance on information published on it. This does not limit any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of this website — and, as set out above, any work we carry out is governed by the documents signed for that job rather than by this page.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
